Your New Favorite: Espresso Martini

Whether you are just starting the day with brunch or getting ready for a night out, this caffeine filled concoction will not let you down!

This classic cocktail’s origin has been attributed to Dick Bradsell at Fred’s Club in London in the 1980s. When, allegedly, Kate Moss ordered a drink to “Wake me up, and F*** me up.” Bradsell did just that.

Just as the name suggests, the primary ingredient is a freshly pulled shot of espresso. (I love my Flair NEO Espresso Press for this job.) If you do not have the ability to make one at home, concentrated cold brew will do in a pinch. (Do not use iced coffee. Trust me, it is not strong enough.)

The other beautiful ingredients are vodka, simple syrup, and coffee liqueur. Kahlua or Tia Maria are two of the most common coffee liqueurs widely available. The coffee liqueur rounds out the flavor making it richer. I currently have a bottle of Louisa’s Liqueur Coffee Carmel Pecan Liqueur, and I cannot recommend it enough!
